Here's a unique concept - you should be able to deploy your data collection and command and control capability on any device regardless of operating system. We can do that. These are the families of devices we use for data collection and point-of-work control. ![]()
Any Phone Any Type Of PC Windows or Android Tablets Any Type Of Handheld Device That's right, using the SYNTEGRATECH® hardware and software Toolkit, we, you can establish the capability to collect and share data on any Windows or Android based Phone, any type of PC, including Desktop, Laptop, Notebook, Tablet, Ultramobile, or Netbook, and Windows or Android Tablet, and any Handheld Data Collection Device - Windows Mobile, CE or Android. Now, that's a very big list, and a very big claim. So, how is it done? Actually the technique is quite simple. First we start with a Database (DB) on the Server/PC. This can be based in MS Access, SQL in all its various forms, and/or practically any ODBC compliant DB. We build the Server/PC DB to allow us to provide data to build and verify various transactions on the multitude data collection devices we use (every one). This can include many links to other existing DBs and Applications, so that we don't have to re-enter existing data. We also create a table or set of tables to collect data into and share that collected data - we call it "fresh killed data" - with other applications and DBs. This gives us a Distributed Database sturcture to communicate data to and from the data collection devices.
![]() Next, we use SYWARE's tools, VisualCE and DroidDB to load these tables on to Windows Mobile/CE and Android devices, or we deploy the various DB tables to the remote and network connected PC based devices. This puts the data validation, construction and collection tables onto the handheld, mobile, phone, ultramobile, tablet, and PC based devices. We than use the same tools to construct an intuitive and powerful Graphical User Interface (GUI) on the various devices. The GUI we develop is specific to the particular needs of any given customer. It reflects their objectives for "point of work control", so it is not merely limited to data collection, but it also functions to command and control activities of the remote and mobile workforce. When it comes to building the GUI on the devices, it pays to have a great deal of experience, and with over 25 years of experience, SYNTEGRATECH® makes an excellent choice for either building or helping you build this GUI. If it is too simple, it will be useless, if it is too complex, the workforce will not use it. We can help. We know how.
![]() Then there is the interchange of data between the Server/PC DB and all the devices of all the various families and types. We use various means (drivers) to make the remote data on the devices visible and accessible to the Server/PC DB, and there actually may be more than one Server/PC DB! Using SYWARE's ODBC drivers, and others, we are able to exchange data with the Server/PC DB and the various remote tables on the devices. Many times, this is completely transparent to the users, since when the devices are "connected" to the Server/PC DB, and this can be through a cable, LAN, WAN, Bluetooth, or the Internet, we can process data into and out of every kind of device - PC, Windows Mobile/CE or Android. In many of our off-the-shelf applications, like TimeTrack for instance, the "synchronization" process of exchanging data between devices, the Server/PC DB, and the existing Business Applications, such as Payroll and HR can be fully and completely automated. One worker may be using an Android Phone, while a gate or door may be controlled by a PC device, and another worker may be using a Windows Mobile/CE device to control and direct the collection of Time and Attendance and Labor. We don't care which device is used, TimeTrack works equally well on any and all of them, and all the data for validation, control and construction is distributed to all of the devices, while all the collected transactions that represent real events are consolidated in the Server/PC DB for editing, reporting, and sharing with the multitude of Business Applications that use them. Simple. Well, if you know what you're doing - simple, otherwise, not so much.
