SyntegraTech’s Capital Assets Tracking System
(CATS) is built for the complete tracking of any inventory assets at a facility
or campus, or between various locations (in transit goods). It can be used to
collect transactions each time an asset (good, object, item, property) changes
state, enters or leaves a building, or the campus, or is added or removed from
the tracking system. It has all the features and reporting required to track
the attributes of an asset, and can be used to report activity, and statistical
data helpful to any organization or group.
It is simple to set up, and quite simple to use. It is available in
Access 2000/XP/2003/2007 versions, which can be found in Microsoft Office
Professional. It comes as 2 forms, one as executable code and one as full
modifiable code. The modifiable version can be easily modified to suit a
customer’s needs, and makes an excellent solution to all a company’s Asset and
Inventory Tracking needs. The CATS software is independent of any other
software.
We provide to you four MS Access databases. One
is for the Validation Data and Transactions Data on the PC, a second is for
Synchronization Data between one or more Pocket PCs and the Host PC(s), and a
third is for the Archived Transactions Data. These three make up the basic data
that is available for reporting within the system. The fourth database
comprises the program functionality of the system on the PC as the
Administrative Interface program. The Administrative Interface program provides
an interface for you to gain access to all the Validation, Scanned, and
Archived Data, as well as the functionality of the system for the operator. You
may enter basic Asset Inventory Information, and enter Validation Data through
this interface. The last database is resident on the Pocket PC (PPC) in the
DataStore as a series of tables that are synchronized with the PPCTransactions
(Synchronization) Database on the Host PC. There is an update procedure within
the Administrative Interface program to review data collected on the PPC(s) and
synchronized to the Host PC, and then update the main data repository on the
Host PC (or Server(s)). There are a series of screens that are built in Visual
CE (similar to MS Access) on the PPC that provide the Away Interface functional
program on the PPC. This allows an operator or operators to enter asset
inventory information while not connected to the memory place that has the Host
databases, and synchronize that “collected” transactional data from most
anywhere in the world to integrate into and update the Host databases. All of
this transactional and validation data can be used for reporting, which is
available from the Administrative Interface. You may also inquire to the
Scanned Data to see what is here, and who has it, and what condition it is in,
in both the Administrative (on a PC) and Away (on a PPC) Interfaces. You can
inquire to the Scanned Data for general reporting by any field or combination
criteria. Since these programs are made in Access and Visual CE, you may do any
additional inquiry and reporting you would like through Access and Report CE.
You may install the Administrative Interface program on as many PCs as you
would like, and allow other people to have access to this data, as long as you
have network connectivity between the PCs (LAN, WAN or Internet). The Away
Interface can be installed on one or more PPCs (usually hand held units with
integrated bar code scanners) and would, through this bar code scanner and
touch screen on the PPC, allow for the entry of information concerning any item
in the database out in the field. You could set this program up on as many PPCs
as you would like to collect data, and have them all synchronize the collected
data to the Host database, as long as you had network connectivity (LAN, WAN or
Internet – wired or wireless) to a File Server or another Peer Computer acting
as a shared memory space for the Host database.

Enter your employee number. The system looks up your employee number and
if found the employee name will display and the cursor will move the password
field. Enter your password. If the employee number and password match the
database you will be able to proceed to the Main Menu. If the employee number and
password do not match the cursor will return to the employee number field.

When the Inventory button is pressed you will be able to enter inventory
transactions.
When the Data Transfer button is pressed you can down load the validation
tables or upload the inventory transactions.
When the Logon New User button is pressed the Logon Screen will be
displayed.
When the EXIT button is pressed the program will be closed.

Enter the
building/container code you are taking inventory in. Enter the room/box you are
taking inventory in. Enter the Bar Code Number of the item. If you the BCN is
in the inventory table the form will be populated with the data found. Review
the data and make any changes as needed.
The Next button when
pressed will save the transaction and clear the fields ready for the next BCN.
The Search button
when pressed will display a screen that will allow you to search for and item.
The Add Equipment
button when pressed will display a screen that allows you to add a new item to
the database.
The Cancel button
when pressed will NOT save displayed data and clear the fields.
The Close button
when pressed will close this form and return you to the previous form.

INVENTORY SCREEN

To find an item fill
in the appropriate field. The matching records will display. Click on the
correct record that you are searching for. Then click on the Retrieve button to
return to the inventory screen. The inventory screen will be displayed with the
information from the record you selected.
Press the Close
button if you do not find the record you were searching for.
